Katie Colacurcio

Biography

Paralegal Katie Colacurcio has worked in the legal field for over fifteen years. Katie finds purpose in being part of a team that helps people through challenging circumstances. Katie’s criminal paralegal experience is well-rounded. She has worked in a variety of settings, including the attorney generals’ offices for Washington and Montana, the Thurston County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office, and most recently, the Thurston County Public Defense Office. In these settings Katie routinely worked on complex criminal cases, including sexual assault, domestic violence assault, and homicide.

Our firm often works on complex criminal matters that require review and analysis of voluminous discovery and other related matters, such as family law, CPS, and/or protection order cases. Katie excels at locating, organizing, and synthesizing this information, which forms the basis of your legal team’s case analysis and strategy discussions. Her work allows your entire legal team to work efficiently and quickly focus on what matters most in your case.

Katie also supports our firm’s negotiations and sex offender registration removal practice, which focuses on developing mitigation and/or proof of successful rehabilitation. While at the public defender’s office, Katie developed a keen interest in mitigation work and routinely interviewed and prepared mitigation reports for use in plea negotiations. Katie’s work, in collaboration with other legal team members, helped pave the way to significantly reduced charges, community-based treatment alternatives to incarceration, and in some cases, outright dismissals. At Muth Atwood PLLC, she assists with client interviewing, records gathering and review, and report drafting in addition to her trial case support.
